Officially ... determining the dates of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers for Egypt

 The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the dates and arrangements for the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (group stage).


The lottery placed the Egyptian team in Group F, along with Angola, Gabon and Libya.


In the event that Egypt leads the group, it will face one of the champions of the other nine groups in order to play two round-trip matches to determine the qualifier for the World Cup.


Ten teams will qualify for the decisive round, which will be held in the home and away system to get to know the five representatives of Africa in the World Cup.


The Egyptian national team will host its Angolan counterpart in the first round next June, before concluding the group stage stage against Gabon in Egypt in October.



The dates for the six rounds in the group stage are as follows:

The first round: Egypt and Angola

5, 6, 7 or 8 June 2021.


- The second round: Gabon and Egypt "outside Egypt"

June 11, 12, 13 or 14, 2021.


The third round: Egypt and Libya

1, 2, 3 or 4 September 2021.


The fourth round: Libya and Egypt "outside Egypt"

5, 6 or 7 September 2021.


Fifth round: Angola and Egypt "outside Egypt"

6, 7, 8 or 9 October 2021.


Sixth round: Egypt and Gabon

10, 11 or 12 October 2021.
