Messi ends Barcelona's fast on tournaments leading him to win the King's Cup

Argentine star Lionel Messi led his team to Barcelona to win the King's Cup for football after defeating Athletic Bilbao 4-0 on Saturday in the final match of the tournament at the "La Cartuja" stadium in Seville, ending the Catalan club's fast for nearly two years.

A goalless draw remained between the two teams for 59 minutes, and then Barcelona managed to win the final match and the title with four goals that came within 12 minutes, which were scored by Antoine Griezmann, Frenkie de Jong and Lionel Messi (two goals) in the 60, 63, 68 and 72 minutes.

Barcelona thus strengthened its record in the Cup, where it was crowned for the 31st time in its history, knowing that Athletic Bilbao is second in the list of the most-crowned teams in the tournament with 23 titles.

Barcelona's last title was the 2018-2019 League Championship in May 2019, while it later lost the Copa del Rey final against Valencia that month, and the Spanish Super Cup final against Athletic Bilbao earlier this year.
