This procession included 18 mummies of kings and 4 mummies of queens, dating back to the dynastic times of 17, 18, 19 and 20, including the mummy of King Ramses II, King Sagnin Ra, King Thutmose III, King Seti the First, Queen Hatshepsut, and Queen Mert Amun, wife of King Amenhotep the First And Queen Ahmose-Nefertari.


In the activities of this majestic event, a great epic that represents all the state bodies that join hands to present this event in front of the world in the most complete civilized image befitting the status of Egypt and the greatness of the ancestors and the nobility of the Egyptian civilization.


Today, Egypt presented a cultural and artistic celebration that highlights its interest and pride in its ancient monuments and history, as the main goal of this event was "to show our respect for our ancestors who wrote the history of mankind to confirm the prestige of the ancient Egyptians and our respect for the mummies of our ancestors who are considered the most famous Egyptian figures throughout the ages, and they are the owners of credit for humanity and Egyptians. As it is considered the oldest civilization in the world. "

From the first day of preparing and preparing for the process of transferring royal mummies, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has paid great attention, care and accuracy in selecting all the details of this event, starting with the event's name in Arabic and English, the chosen logo, decorations, colors, the clothes of the participants, the state's official musical bands and the official honor, The carriages for transporting mummies were formed, in addition to songs that were specially prepared for the event, ancient words used for the first time in singing on stage today, and films specially prepared for this event, for example the music that will be played by ancient Egyptian music.


The most important thing is that all the activities of this event are implemented and directed by Egyptians, where about 350 students, children and the most famous Egyptian artists participate in it, believing that they are the most connected and feeling the event to show love and respect for grandparents.


The students of the Faculties of Fine Arts, Applied Arts and Art Education at Heloun University also participated in beautifying the concrete walls located in separate places along the path of the procession by drawing artistic murals whose design idea depends on documenting the heritage of the ancient Egyptian civilization in an artistic way with all its artistic origins and symbolic and expressive meanings. In a modern artistic style that is in line with our contemporary Egyptian society, in addition to embellishing the basins of plants in the Museum of Civilization with drawings that reflect the manifestations of art in the backward historical eras in Egypt, and embellishing some of the marble columns by carving them with antique inscriptions, and a number of paintings were designed that illustrate the museum's content.


The choice of the logo for this event was one of the most important details that the Ministry made sure to choose accurately and distinctively, reflecting strong connotations and features related to the nature of the event, as the choice of design and colors was inspired by the ancient Egyptian civilization.


The colors of the logo came in a double color, between dark blue and gold, which was inspired by the ancient Egyptian creed.

Preparations for the transfer of mummies began about a year and a half ago, as they began to conduct a comprehensive study of the condition of each mummy before starting the packaging process, discovering its weaknesses, strengthening it and restoring it with Egyptian hands from a team of competent Egyptian restorers who also wrapped the mummies using the latest scientific methods.


The transfer of royal mummies is carried out according to specific procedures that take into account all the safety and safety standards followed internationally in the transfer of artifacts, by placing them in sterilization units equipped with the latest scientific devices, and then loading them on carts that have been designed and equipped for this process to ensure control of vibrations in order to preserve The safety of mummies.


The mummies were received a military reception befitting the greatness and prestige of the ancestors, by firing 21 honorary bullets at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat, and lighting along the route, which witnessed great development in light of the President's directives on the need to develop the areas on the course of the procession from Tahrir Square to Fustat.
